The SubStat is a new outreach pamphlet developed by Butte County staff to help share key information from the Subbasin’s Annual Reports in a more accessible, visual format. Designed with infographics, photos, and plain-language summaries, the SubStat makes it easier for readers to understand local groundwater conditions and SGMA implementation progress.

The current edition covers groundwater conditions and activities for the 2024 water year (October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024). It summarizes technical information from the Annual Reports submitted to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) as part of SGMA compliance. These reports include data on groundwater elevations, water supply and use, changes in groundwater storage, and updates on implementation of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP).

While the SubStat is a helpful resource for Board members and Stakeholder Advisory Committee members to share with their communities, it is also intended for the general public, including website visitors, social media audiences, and attendees at community events and workshops.
